JOYCELYN OF MISLYN KREATIONS WINS BEST DESIGNER @ PROJECT WALKWAY GHANA 2012

Project walkway Ghana 2012 came to an end yesterday with an exciting event at MJ Grand hotel at East Legon in Accra. The grand finale sees five talented contestants of four guys and a lady clothing the models with their designs after going through a thorough screening process with the judges from the audition to the tasks assigned to them.

Joycelyn of Mislyn Kreations emerged as the best designer of the competition with funky and ready to wear designs which make her stand out among the rest while Chris became the best model.

“I was in the competition to meet, interact and learn. Winning the competition is a plus for me” Joycelyn told FashionmaniaGh in an interview after the show.

She further explain that her husband encourage her to going into fashion designing after noticing that she love doing something creative. “Am not regretting quitting secretarial work because this event shows that am doing something right and am ready to talk it to the next level. Watch out for me” Joycelyn

The night was not only for discovering new talents, some established designers also showcased their collections among them are best accessories designer of the year award winner at the recent Ghana Fashion Awards, Sa4a Designs, Konfidence label, Peroni designs, Harmattan clothing, etc and good music performance by Bertha(YaaYaa).

The three judges for the night are; Makeba Boateng, fashion PR and consultant, 2008 face of Africa model Kate Menson and fashion consultant chadi and hosted by Edma Ohemaa Lawer, Miss Ghana UK 2nd Runner Up and Elia of Phamous TV.

After all said and done, I think the judges made the right choice in chosen the winners and the show was perfectly fine for a start apart from starting 2hours late behind the scheduled time which am getting use to now.

The organizer was also kind of loosing focus along the line with excessive and unnecessary catwalk show but kudos to mrs. Bertha Owusu and her production team for discovering new talents for the industry. Hope to see better show next year.
