UBA Plc, one of Africa’s leading financial
institutions with over 700 business offices in 19 African countries has
formally launched its new staff uniforms at its CEO Awards night in Lagos,
weekend.
The uniforms which were designed and produced by
Nigeria’s leading clothing company, Okunoren Twins limited will soon be seen
worn by the front desk staff at all UBA’s branches nationwide.
The partnership, according to industry watchers
is expected to re-define corporate dress code in Nigeria and across the
continent. Though the suits were designed by the creative principals of
Okunoren Twins themselves, they were produced by their sister company
Industrial Tailoring & Company.
This is a groundbreaking partnership and a
defining moment in the Nigerian clothing industry, which according to industry
watchers is set to witness strong growth in the coming years as the private
sector continues to show keen interest in the competence and creativity of
indigenous clothing companies. The Okunoren Twins which are known for providing
bespoke suits to Nigeria’s super wealthy have recently delved into the retail
and mass markets through their subsidiaries The Shirt Company and Industrial
tailoring & Company respectively.
Their designs, according to fashion buffs are the
epitome of sophistication and style. For about a decade now, the Okunoren twins
have brought glamour into the world of African fashion, winning the admiration
of a host of A-list devotees and followers. The Okunoren Twins established
their brand in May 2002 at the age of 19 and were inspirations to thousands of
young men and women of their generation to go into the fashion industry.

Okunoren, Head of Communications & Strategy at Industrial tailoring &
