BEAUTY TIPS: DOES EVERYONE NEED A SPECIAL EYE MOISTURIZER? FIND OUT

The answer is, it depends on how sensitive your skin is. For most people, face moisturizer will work well but around the eyes the skin is thinner than the skin on the rest of the face so it is very sensitive. To avoid irritation, eye creams tend to have lower levels of active ingredients. Eye moisturizers also contain substances not found in face creams like caffeine to reduce puffiness, vitamin K to minimize dark circles.
How to Moisturize the Eye

What you need

1        Under-eye moisturizer (basic, 24-hour protection, all-day or all-night)
 2       Cotton wool
 3       Eye makeup applicator
Instructions
1        Choose an under-eye moisturizer: basic for simple moisturizing, 24-hour protection for the entire day and night, all day for 12-hour daytime protection, and all night for moisture protection while you are asleep. If you opt for a basic under-eye moisturizer, you will have to apply it twice a day, in the morning and at bedtime.
2       Wash your face clean prior to applying under eye-moisturizer. Experts recommends that you moisturize your skin immediately after cleansing it, as damp skin effectively retains water in the skin's surface cells.
3        Use your ring finger, a piece of cotton wool or an eye makeup applicator to dot the area under your eye with a little moisturizing cream.
4        Pat and massage the moisturizer in the skin gently with your ring finger, commencing at the bottom of the eye near the tear duct and continuing right around the eye. Apply moisturizer to the entire under-eye area, as crow's feet sometimes extend outward away from the eye.
Warnings
1        Use eye creams that contain hyaluronic acid, sodium PCA or colloidal oatmeal, as these ingredients are skin friendly and retain moisture.
2        Apply a 24-hour protection eye cream, which necessitates only a single application, instead of two daily.
3        Do not use a general body moisturizer under the eye area, as general body moisturizers are not designed for this sensitive area.
4        Refrain from using a night protection eye moisturizer during the day, as it contains ingredients that may cause harmful chemical reactions when exposed to sunlight.
5        Do not forcefully rub under-eye cream into your skin, as you may stretch the skin and cause further damage to it instead of protecting it.
