THE GUISE fashion
show tagged "witness true fashion" took place yesterday at African
regent hotel in Accra and I must say it was an impressive opening for fashion
events to come in Ghana this year.
Though the show
started late as usual but I enjoyed every minute I spent at the event.
Just Glay by Gladys
opened the runway show with youthful and elegant jeans, polo, shoes and bags followed
by Zinzi whose specialize in wedding gown. Zinzi showcased wearable designs which
comprises of colorful wedding dress, evening wear and chicky dresses.
Ekikom Kumordzie
label wow the crowd with his menswear collection. The collection was full of
life and colors as I see myself wearing most of the clothes. There are lots of
fabrics mixture and embroider caftans.
April Rust
collection can best be defined as simple, sexy and stylish. She presented 5
clothes and all are wearable designs.
It's time to for
the models to show what they got as Aya Morrison presented bikini, beach wear
and lovely bags for all occasion.
Ghanaian actor John
Dumelo's label "J-melo" supposed to close the show but unfortunately
it didn't happen and reason was unknown as at the time of this review but
expect my follow up on that. Because same thing happened to Prince David Osei
label at Ghana fashion awards late last year and that gives me some kind of
concern if all is well with their label as we still see more celebrities with
intention to have their own fashion house.
The show was hosted
by Caroline sampson and sexiest songbird, Efya close the show with a wonderful
performance. Both were clothed by April Rust and Efya shoe by Just Glay.
The show is powered
by Dzidzi’s Spa and make-up and the concept of the show is to provide a
platform for young entrepreneurs in the fashion industry to exhibit their
works, motivate and accomplish networking between the youth and the already
established entrepreneurs for guidance and monitoring.
