NIGERIA TO HOST AFRICA FASHION RECEPTION NEXT MONTH

Nigeria will be hosting the Africa Fashion Reception from 3^rd to 5^th July 2014 at International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The Honourable Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation Chief Edem Duke revealed this during a recent media briefing where he informed Nigerians on the immense benefits the hosting will provide to the country.
He mentioned that Nigeria was lucky to secure the hosting right for five other African countries contested with Nigeria. He said that his Ministry is collaborating with Branzuk Gold Limited to ensure a successful hosting and explained that World Fashion Organisation gave the right to host the 2014 African Fashion Reception to Branzuk Gold Limited in partnership with this Ministry.
While mentioning some of the benefits of the event, Chief Edem Duke said, “It will attract global attention to Nigeria’s very rich and diversified dress culture and build bridges of friendships and businesses by creating free trade and partnerships among fashion and textile practitioners throughout the African continent.  Importantly, it will expand the potential power of fashion as a tool of fighting poverty in Nigeria by creating wealth through the empowerment of women and youth in various fashion vocations”.
Other immensurable benefits he revealed was that the World Fashion Organisation has promised to establish a first World Fashion University  and also  build a first Africa World Class garment manufacturing plant in Nigeria.
In her contribution, the Africa Patron of World Fashion Organisation Dr. Mrs. Merit Gordon Obua said that the African Fashion Reception will be graced by 40 notable designers from Africa and 120 international fashion and textile designers across the world including buyers from the global community.  She added that it will bring about spirit of self reliance amongst our youths and such initiative will create millions of jobs across the continent for tailors, creative directors, Textile designers, models fashion photographers and writers.
